Synopsis
The USS Voyager-A and Nova Squardon’s fighters have all been incapacitated by the effect of the quantum torpedoes detonation. Kathryn Janeway asks for a status report. Tysess informs her that all systems are offline. The Rev-1 sends more fighters in their direction. Meanwhile, Maj’el determines how to fix her fighter’s impulse engines. She sends the fix to Zeph and Dal R’El. On the USS Protostar, Chakotay wonders aloud to Hologram Janeway how many drones the Rev-1 can hold. Gwyn says Ilthuran tried to warn them. Chakotay cites the fact that if the Protostar is destroyed, the time paradox will remain unresolved. This will spell doom for Gwyn.
The drones are about to attack Voyager. But the Protostar leaps into action. On Protostar’s bridge, Rok-Tahk, who has Bribble on her shoulder, says the drones are anticipating their auto-targeting. Jankom Pog bifurcates the tractor beam, slowing the enemy drones. Murf uses the phasers to take drones down. Janeway is glad Chakotay defied her orders to stay back. Meanwhile, Drednok reports back to Asencia. She uses a machine to force Wesley Crusher to show her the effect of firing “the Incursor” on Voyager. Satisfied, she fires the weapon. Next, the Protostar is trapped in the Rev-1’s energy-draining beam, knocking weapons offline. They watch as the Incursor hits Voyager, penetrating its hull.
In the auxiliary sickbay, The Doctor is surprised there’s been a hull breach but no explosion. Counselor Noum wonders if it could be a dud. But Zero worries that it’s just begun. Tysess and others arrive in the hangar and examine the Incursor. But it seems to detonate, sending out a wave of temporal radiation. Tysess frees an ensign from being tapped. But in the process, he’s subsumed by the energy. While the ensign pulls him free, the effect of the radiation has made him appear elderly. Janeway orders containment fields to be placed around the shuttle bay.
On Protostar, Chakotay and the crew have been unable to get their systems back online. Their systems are being drained faster than Voyager’s. Janeway contacts them and updates them on Voyager’s situation. Chakotay notes that the same fate awaits the Protostar. Janeway wonders where Asencia got this tech. Then she resolves to call the Starfleet cavalry. However, Edward Jellico contacts Voyager and informs Janeway that backup isn’t coming.
In sickbay, The Doctor says gene therapy will get Tysess back on his feet. Zero asks the ensign about the conditions in the shuttle bay. She tells him that it looked rusted over within the energy field. The Doctor determines this is due to “chronometric radiation.” Time within the field is being accelerated. The Doctor says someone must stop the energy field before it affects all of Voyager. Zero volunteers to accomplish this, even if it means their body doesn’t make it. They contact Jankom and inform him that they’ll need their new body sooner than expected.![]()

Maj’el leads the fighters against the Rev-1. The fighters observe that the drones seem to know every Starfleet piloting maneuver. On Voyager, Zero enters the hangar by giving the ship’s computer his emergency medical override. Inside the hanger, the effect of the radiation on Zero is immediate. Struggling, they make their way to the Incursor.
On the Protostar, Jankom uses the vehicle replicator to create Zero’s new body. Meanwhile, on Voyager, Zero opens the Incursor panel. They continue to struggle but get the panel off. Then they contact Rok for advice on disabling a time weapon. Meanwhile, Dal suggests they forget their Starfleet flight patterns in order to thwart the drones. This proves effective.
In Voyager’s hangar, Zero’s body is close to giving out. Zero fears the weapon can’t be shut down. However, they can lock it onto another Starfleet vessel. Maj’el tells them to lock the Incursor onto her ship. Then she will lead it to the Rev-1 to detonate. Zeph says this is crazy. But Maj’el insists that Wes said she was important. She says the logical choice is to always protect Starfleet. But she’ll require Dal and Zeph’s aide to pull off Boothby’s Supernova and successfully send the Incursor back to the Rev-1. In the hangar, Zero resets the Incursor. Then they collapse. Meanwhile, Jankom informs them he’ll beam over their new body shortly. But in the meantime, it seems Zero’s body has given out. The Incursor dislodges from Voyager and goes after Maj’el’s fighter. She leads the rest of Nova Squadron in the maneuver. The Rev-1 is destroyed.
Later, Nova Squadron reunites with the Protostar crew. Plus, Grom reunites with the rest of Nova Squad, putting her hand on Zeph’s shoulder. But Maj’el asks where Zero is. The hangar door opens and Zero arrives in their new body. It looks similar to the first two containment suits, but taller. However, this one has upgrades. Zero now has sensory inputs. They hold Maj’el’s hand as they say, “I feel like me.” Janeway arrives with The Doctor, Noum and Chakotay. To Zero she says, “And that’s what matters most, even if it means we must adapt.” She continues with a captain’s speech about their trial by fire. She says there was no single savior, but a collection of smaller acts of bravery as they fought alongside (and for) each other. However, Starfleet has requested a presence on Solum. Voyager and the Protostar are the two closest ships. No time for rest: they’ll have to leave immediately.
Later, Chakotay compliments her on the speech. However, he doubts she believed it. Janeway admits that after what she’s seen today, she worries for the future. Chakotay says that nothing stays the same forever. On Solum, Wes mocks Asencia. She causes him pain in response. While she compliments his trick (withholding possible realities from her to manipulate her decisions), she says she learned how stretched thin Starfleet is as a result. Asencia says they won’t be prepared for what’s coming next.-geekgirlauthority.com
