For the A Farewell to Kings Tour, Rush's set list expanded to accommodate their increasingly complex, synthesizer-layered sound. The band heavily featured their new material, delivering the now-perfected studio version of "Xanadu," the ambitious sci-fi epic "Cygnus X-1," and the enduring hit "Closer to the Heart," while uniquely positioning "Cinderella Man" as the encore. These sophisticated new tracks were seamlessly integrated alongside established heavyweights, including the near-complete "2112" suite and reliable early staples like "Bastille Day" and "By-Tor & the Snow Dog." The foundational medley of "Working Man," "Fly By Night," and "In the Mood" continued to reliably close out the main performance, though the band began making slight rotational tweaks.
