When I was young, my best friends were all into RUSH. As a musician, I got it. I understood the infatuation of the stories and amazing arrangements RUSH provided. I was not a fan though.
Fast forward 30 years and I began to peel back layers of RUSH fanaticism and dedication of its fans. I truly appreciate the progressive musicianship, and themed connections of songs on particular albums. Through this process, I fell in love with Clockwork Angels. It is a masterpiece to me. The Garden is a near perfect song for RUSH to end upon.
I now have every remastered CD. I am building a 200 gram LP collection and audiophile digital releases. I never saw RUSH live, and I regret that fact. I recently met Geddy at the Q&A and book signing event here in Nashville. I became a fanboy when my time to meet him arrived. It was exactly as I hoped. GL was humble, approachable and interested in what fans had to say. Fist bumps all around!
